About CounsellingWorx

At CounsellingWorx, We adopt a holistic approach to counselling and recognise that life has the ability to affect every part of us, including our emotional, social, spiritual, mental and physical health and we need to take steps, not only to understand the importance of these 5 aspects of health for us as individuals, but also to make sure that we are meeting our needs in each of these areas. When any of our 5 areas become neglected or impacted by life, this can have a dramatic effect on our ability to function and cope with life. Normal everyday tasks such as work, looking after the family, going to the gym, eating, sleeping, motivation, emotional regulation can be affected.

We aim to promote “positive mental fitness” and recognise that looking after ourselves mentally is just as important as taking care of our physical health. Understanding ourselves, our emotional responses, our relationships, our behaviours, why we make certain choices, all helps foster resilience and ultimately helps us feel more in control of our lives and the choices that we make.

How do I find the right therapist for me?

Finding the right counsellor for you can feel overwhelming. There are many factors to consider such as cost or location, but there are also other aspects that may not be obvious such as confidentiality, qualifications and integrity, which can also impact upon a successful client/counsellor relationship. Being aware of what you are looking for in a counsellor can help you find the right counsellor for you.
